About Me
Atharv Gavade is professional chess player with International ELO Rating (FIDE) of 1463.
He has started playing chess when he was only 4.5 yrs old and is been playing in various competitions at Local , State and National level chess tournaments since then.
With this rating he was 9th Highest Rated Chess player from Maharashtra among 8yr olds, 28th in India, 95th in the world as per the Rating released by world chess federation (FIDE) in Jun 2013.
He has received over 50+ trophies and 5+ medals in various age groups (Under 6 , Under 7, Under 8 , Under 9 and Under 12) played in various competitions at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane & Pune.
His recent achievements are as follows
• 2nd place in Under 8 boys at the 2nd Maharashtra Open International FIDE Rating Chess tournament, 2013 held during 10-14th April 2013 @ Mumbai Central, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• 9th place in Under 9 boys at the Mumbai Division Age Group Chess tournament, held on 26th & 28th Feb 2013 @ Borivali, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• 2nd place in Under 8 boys at the 1st Late Shri Sharad Gopal Kunte Memorial All India Open Fide Rating Rapid Chess Championship, 2013 held during 9-10th Feb 2013 @ Pune, Maharashtra.
• First place in Under 8 boys at the 1st Sou. Nirmala Vaze Memorial Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2013 held during 2nd & 3rd Feb 2013 @ Mulund, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• First place in Under 8 boys category and Third Place at the Little Master Chess Club tournament held on 19th & 20th Jan 2013 @ Borivali, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
• 2nd place in Under 8 boys at the Maharashtra Open FIDE Rating Chess tournament, 2013 held during 21st to 25th Nov 2012 @ Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra.
